HAWC Community Health Center was founded in 1995 as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and currently has three sites located in northern Nevada. 

 

In 1998 HAWC secured a federal "Healthcare for the Homeless" grant to operate a free healthcare clinic at the 4th Street address.  The HAWC Outreach Medical Clinic has provided free primary health care for homeless individual and families since January of 1998.

 

In 2005, HAWC Outreach Clinic had over 4,000 visits for medical care. Of these homeless individuals, 37% were women and 10% were children and teens.

bulletAdult/child immunizations
bulletBirth control pills
bulletPregnancy Testing with referrals to OB/GYN providers
bulletX-ray referrals
bulletPap smears & breast exams
bulletHIV testing & referrals
bulletDepo-Provera injections
bulletLimited prescription fills & refills
bulletReferrals to our physicians at the main HAWC Clinic if needed
bulletOutreach services to local social service agencies & shelters
bulletDrug & Alcohol screening/treatment through a contract with Bristlecone Family Services
bulletMental Health Counseling
bulletChiropractic evaluations & adjustments from volunteer Chiropractors
